Phototype Engraving Company is a brand-building company with clients such as Procter & Gamble, Printpack, Landor and Okay Foods. In 2005, PDT Design worked with Phototype to design and complete construction drawings for three buildings on Gilbert Avenue. CORE Resources, Inc. was invited to competitively bid this work and was awarded the contract in the fall of 2005.
The renovations were completed in 2006 and a year later, Phototype invited CORE to again work with PDT Design as part of the design team to renovate two existing buildings on Florence Avenue into a production and office facility. The mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building fire suppression work was completed under design/build delivery systems coordinated by CORE, the facility manager and PDT as well as completing the working documents required for both permit and construction.
Work began in late fall of 2007 and was competed by the following spring. Site renovations included a new parking lot, repair of the historic brick wall along Florence Avenue, new entry court into the production facility and renovated Coach House. The production facility was 13,828 SF including the production floor area, shipping & receiving and some office area. A historic coach house was renovated to house a second floor conference room and first floor product showroom.
